Went in for an oil change and filter replacement and the service department proceeded to put the wrong oil in the vehicle. What should’ve been a quick process turned into a 5 hour wait with the hassle of debating the correct oil that should’ve been in my vehicle. The incorrect oil was discovered by myself as I looked through my invoice and noticed I was charged for wrong viscosity of oil. The cashier/service representative proceeded to tell me that the incorrect oil would be fine in my vehicle, which would have caused wear and tear on my new Chevrolet. After a brief moment of discussion with the cashier/service representative, I spoke with the manager, Mark, who was able to get my vehicle back into the shop. I was given permission to be with my vehicle as the incorrect oil was drained and new oil placed in the engine. I did not for argue the price difference between the oil that I was charge for versus the correct oil that was placed in my vehicle. I wasn’t here to get a free or reduced oil change. What I did not appreciate though, is invoice states I paid in cash when I definitively paid with a card. Not sure what is going down here, but this dealership has lost my trust and confidence. I plan on headed to Junction City or Topeka for future services.
